Rosamaría Vélez

Rosamaría Vélez coordinates IRFF’s work in Mexico. Before joining UNDP, she was Senior Legislative Advisor to Member of Congress Sylvana Beltrones, whom she assisted in driving a social protection agenda. She has also been Director of Federal Resources at the Ministry of Finance of Aguascalientes State, where she led initiatives on inclusive insurance, risk management, education, health and metropolitan development. Rosa is a lawyer and holds an LLM and a Master of Public Policy. In 2020, Rosa was the first naturalized Mexican to run for office, as a reserve candidate for the Local Congress.
